2019

The 2019 Texas Junior Brangus State Show "Buckle Up with Brangus", June 20-23, was held in Bryan, Texas. Dr. Jason Cleere, TAMU professor, College Station, Texas judged the show. Reds competed with the Blacks in the Cow/Calf and Owned Bull Shows with junior Red Breeders taking home the Grand Champion Cow/Calf and Reserve Grand Champion Owned Bull!

    A packed house was on hand for the crowning event of the 2019 Brangus activities in Houston, Texas. 100 registered buyers from 13 US states, six Mexican states and four countries joined a standing room only crowd of Brangus enthusiasts to vie for the elite genetics in the Brangus breed.

    The lead off lot in the ring set the tone for the evenings activities when Lot 3, Suhn’s Miss Patton 30X6 sold for $60,000 to Kindred Ranch, Brookshire, Texas. She was consigned by Draggin' M Ranch, Eldorado AR, and Suhn Cattle Co, Eureka, KS.

    The evening’s second high selling lot was Lot 41, 100 straws of TJM Three D 302A semen. This lot was consigned by Schmidt Farms, Sims, TX, TJ Moore and Cavender Ranches, Jacksonville, TX and totaled $54,750.

    Two donor cows were tied for the next High selling lots as Lot 4, MB Ms Atlanta 129D92 sold for $20,000 to Herndon Farms, Lyons, GA. She was consigned by Miller Brangus, Waynesboro, TN. Lot 7, T3 Ms Csonka 541B21 also sold for $20,000, going to Quail Valley Farms, Oneonta, AL. She was consigned by T3 Brangus, Purvis, MS and Spur S Cattle, Waynesboro, MS.

    Lot 5 was the evening’s next high seller as Star G Ranch, Canton, TX paid $17,500 to own MB Ms In Focus 129X2. This donor cow was consigned by Pennridge Ranch, Paige, TX and Miller Brangus.

    Clover Ranch, Marietta, GA paid $16,500 to own Lot 26, CB Ms Three D 803F7. This powerful open heifer was consigned by Cavender Ranches.

    The high selling flush lot was Lot 35, an IVF flush of Red Brangus heifer Miss JLS Nicole 334D3 consigned by GKB Cattle, Waxahachie, TX and was purchased by Circle Lee Farms, Baton Rouge, LA for $16,500.


    "Divas in Red" Sale Results

    The "Divas in Red" Sale held on June 1st during the Red Brangus event in College Station was a great success. Buyers were able buy live or bid and buy online through DVAuction. Thank you to our consignors for bringing a quality set of cattle: Bar C Bar Red Brangus; Broken A Ranch; Buffaloe Cattle; Cox Excalibur Brangus; Fagan Ranch Brangus; Indian Hills Ranch; Irons Creek Ranch; Jorge Maldonado; Mary A Ranch; MBJ Ranch; Medill Cattle Company; New City Cattle Company; Red Bud Farms; Tanecka Ranch; Garrett Thomas; Triangle K Farms; and TRIO Cattle & Genetics. The sale was managed by Hi Point Sales and Marketing.

    High Selling Lots:
    Lot 16 and 16A ~ Female sired by IH Bar None 820Y8 and out of a Chief of Indian Hills 23P68 daughter. Sold with a bull calf at side. Consigned by Indian Hill Ranch of Cranfills Gap, Texas ~ Sold to Marvel Farms of High Springs, Florida.

    Lot 18 ~ A Limited offering of 5 straws Trio's Yucatan 175Y was competitively sought after by many in the crowd and online but ultimately commanded $775/straw. Consigned by TRIO Cattle & Genetics, Mabank, Texas and MBJ Ranch, Wharton, Texas and purchased by GKB Cattle of Waxahachie, Texas.

    Lot 2 ~ An open Yucatan granddaughter offered by Cox Excalibur of Weimar, Texas and sold to Tom Moore of Houston, Texas.

    Red Brangus Selected Supreme Champion Female at Arizona National!
    Jessica Maxwell Exhibits a First for Red Brangus

    For the first time ever a Red Brangus was selected from a field of all the Open Champion Heifers to win the prestigious Supreme Overall Female on New Year's Eve day at the 2018 Arizona National in Phoenix. MCC Ellie May 72E, was first chosen on December 29, 2018, as the Junior Champion Heifer before going on to win the Grand Champion Brangus Heifer title. The April 2017 daughter of TRIO's Aristotle 175A is owned by Jessica Maxwell, Ponder, Texas and Southern Jewel Cattle Company, Victoria, Texas. The Red and Black Brangus showed together in the Alex Dees Brangus Show.
