HIDDEN OAK RANCH

Ranch History

Hidden Oak Ranch is a family operated ranch that breeds Red Brangus cattle. John and Christine Liechty own and operate the ranch. In 1997, they purchased unimproved acreage, and in 2001, they purchased their first set of females. Through the years, they have focused on developing quality cattle. Today, the ranch sells cattle private treaty and consigns to association sponsored sales. David Liechty, John and Christine's son, was a big help in the development of the ranch and he continues to help between college semesters. The ranch is located northeast of Conroe, Texas, which is about 50 miles north of Houston. Jiggs grass is the primary forage source.

Herd Improvements

TWe improve herd quality through artificial insemination and breeding our cows to quality bulls.  We have several young cows that are embryo flush candidates that will serve our breeding program in the future.  We also ultrasound our yearling cattle and take the required measurements.
